Fast installation
Installing and commissioning traffic and parking management systems interrupts regular operations. Traffic comes to a standstill, and revenue from the rental of parking spaces, among other things, may be lost. So it's a matter of handling both quickly to keep the interruption as short as possible.
The installation of the TAPS Sensors takes only 30 minutes. It can be carried out selectively, and no cables or induction loops are required. Roads therefore do not have to be torn up and repaired over a large area.
All that is needed to insert the sensor is a targeted drilling operation. Immediately afterwards, traffic can continue as usual. Thanks to the TAPS sensor, you save both time and construction costs.
Almost no maintenance required
Every system needs maintenance from time to time. This is also accompanied by an interruption of the usual traffic flow. Road users have to be diverted to other roads, and traffic jams quickly form, costing time and nerves. To ensure everyone's satisfaction, low-maintenance systems are essential.
Since the TAPS sensors operate self-sufficiently in terms of energy, it is not necessary to replace batteries. In addition, thanks to its long service life, the sensor only needs to be replaced after about ten years. In addition, both the configuration of the TAPS sensor and updates are conveniently carried out remotely. Specially developed radio protocols are used for this purpose. These points result in very low maintenance requirements.
Protected from environmental impact
The TAPS sensors are listed with IP code 67. IP-Codes indicate the environmental conditions against which electrical equipment is protected.
The TAPS sensors withstand all types of contact as well as temporary submersion. Consequently, they are resistant to all kinds of weather conditions. Temperatures from -25 °C to +65 °C as well as humidity of up to 100 % do not bother them.
Real time data transmission
The faster the data collected by the sensor reaches the operator, the faster the operator can respond to traffic situations. The TAPS sensor sends the received signals to the TAPS gateway via a proprietary radio protocol.
As soon as these have been processed, the gateway forwards them immediately to the operator. The operator therefore knows immediately about the utilization of the roads and parking spaces and can quickly work out a solution.
Flexible application possibilities
TAPS sensors are equally suitable for use in the parking and the Traffic Management. If they are installed on lanes, they record how many vehicles are traveling there and when. The same applies to the utilization of parking spaces. They thus enable dynamic traffic management. There is room for one or two sensors and a gateway per lane. Intersections in particular are considered an important area of application.
Compared to induction loops, the sensors are the more attractive alternative. Not only can they be installed more quickly, they are also around 50% cheaper. In addition, they combine multiple applications and enable real-time management of traffic and parking. So, thanks to the in-house real-time software, nothing stands in the way of the emergence of a dynamic traffic management system.
The TAPS sensors are both flexible and expandable. They record how the traffic volume is currently, but at the same time enable historical analyses and trend calculations to be carried out. Thanks to the sensors, traffic can be managed in advance, for example by displaying detours or relaying information regarding current traffic jams. Maintenance work can also be planned more efficiently and temporary light signals can be controlled.
Improved planning and rapid dissemination of information regarding the need for action make it possible to react quickly to changes in the needs of road users. For example, additional parking facilities can be created more quickly or a parking guidance system can be introduced.
Driving around for minutes in search of a free parking space results in increased CO2 emissions. Intelligent parking management helps to reduce these emissions and at the same time increases convenience for drivers.
