TAPS-Ceiling Sensor
Due to the radar technology used in the sensor and the innovative development work of LTS, the detection of vehicles by the sensor is possible at a mounting height of up to six metres.
The digital inputs and outputs on the sensor ensure the control of external equipment, such as a pictogram that can be used to indicate the availability of a parking space.
Furthermore, a parking display can also be accessed to visualise the number of free spaces. In this way, customers can be guided directly to the free wash bay when entering the entire facility.
All events of the installations are collected and can be evaluated in real time in order to monitor the availability of wash bays and, if necessary, to control vehicles entering or leaving.
We see ceiling sensors as an important component of modern car wash management. Their use can help to optimise the usage behaviour of customers and thus make operations more efficient. The usable wash bays can be monitored and displayed. This enables customers to find a free space quickly and easily, thus avoiding longer waiting times and unnecessary driving around.
Project with Kenny's Car Wash
Not only the user benefits from such a solution, but also car wash operators benefit from such sensors. For example, they can monitor the utilisation of the car wash and react to it by deploying more staff or adjusting prices if necessary. Another advantage of using ceiling sensors in car washes is the ability to collect and analyse data on customer parking behaviour. This can help to improve the car wash situation and the overall operation of the car wash, which increases the car wash's service and customer satisfaction.
Kenny's car wash also saw these benefits and implemented a first project with LTS in October 2022. The business in Wettingen (AG) sometimes had customers with unnecessarily long standing times at the wash bays, which caused high waiting times for other users. By using our ceiling sensors, the facilities can now be used more efficiently. The TAPS system always checks the current usage status of the facility. In case of irregularities, the operator is informed and can intervene, for example, in case of an unusually long dwell time on a court. This information is viewed and analysed via the TAPS software. In this way, the operation can be constantly optimised.
After an initial conclusion, optimisation potentials have already been identified. For example, attempts are being made to bring the car wash users, who use the facilities for an average of 30-60 minutes, to a shorter usage time. This is particularly important for the operator on busy days.
We thank Kenny's Car Wash for their trust and hope that their customers will continue to clean their vehicles with satisfaction in the future.
